To make an Aeropress latte, first brew a concentrated coffee using the Aeropress with an inverted method. Then, separately heat and froth milk. Combine the brewed coffee with the frothed milk, adjusting the proportions to taste.
Grind Your BeansWeigh 15 grams of coffee beans and grind them to the thickness of table salt. You can use the scoop with your AeroPress if you don’t have a scale. It holds approximately 15 grams when full.
Heat Your WaterHeat the water needed for brewing. Aim for 203 °F (95 °C) if you have a thermometer. If you don’t have a thermometer, boil the water and let it rest for 1-1.5 minutes.
Preheat and Prepare AeropressPull out the plunger of the AeroPress so that about 1 cm (½ inch) remains inside the chamber. Then, pour hot water into your AeroPress to preheat it and shake it lightly. After that, pour out the water inside the sink.
Brew Your EspressoPlace your AeroPress upside down on your scale and add the coffee grounds. Then pour 75 ml (2.5 oz) of hot water over the coffee grounds.
Stir and WaitUse the paddle of your AeroPress to stir the mixture vigorously for 10 seconds. Then, attach a paper or metal filter to the filter cap and place it on the AeroPress. Wait for 1 minute for your coffee to brew.
Flip and PressPlace your cup on top of the AeroPress, covering the filter cup. Then, carefully and quickly flip it over with one hand holding the connection point of the AeroPress and the other hand holding your cup. Place the entire system on the counter. Then, push down steadily on the plunger without applying too much force. Continue pressing until you hear a hissing sound.
Heat and Froth the MilkHeat and froth 150 ml (5 oz) of milk. You can use a milk steamer or a milk frother for frothing. If you have a French press, you can even froth your milk with it. All you need to do is pour the heated milk into the French press and move the plunger rapidly up and down. Your milk will froth quickly. I usually use the steamer of my espresso machine to froth milk. However, I used a milk frother to prepare a latte without an espresso machine for this recipe.
Stir and ServePour the frothed milk into the coffee you brewed in the AeroPress and stir. Your latte is now ready to serve. You can sweeten your latte with your favorite syrups or sugar. If you ask me, caramel syrup goes very well with a latte.
Notes
Sweetener and Flavor Additions: Customize your latte with sweeteners or flavorings such as vanilla, caramel, or chocolate syrup. Add these according to your taste preferences.Presentation: For an added touch, consider garnishing your latte with a sprinkle of cocoa powder, cinnamon, or a drizzle of caramel.
