Prepare Your Espresso ShotPrepare 1 shot (30 ml or 1 fl oz) of espresso for 1 cup (240 ml or 8 fl oz) of White Americano. You can prepare your espresso with an espresso machine, Nanopresso, or Nespresso machine. If you don’t have one of these, you may brew coffee with the intensity of espresso using a Moka pot or Aeropress.
Add Hot WaterAdd four times as much hot water to pour your espresso into a cup. You should use 120 ml (4 fl oz) of hot water for 1 shot of espresso.
Add MilkAdd 1 or 2 times the amount of milk to the espresso you used in your cup. For 1 shot (30 ml or 1 fl oz) of espresso, add 30-60 ml (1-2 fl oz) of milk.Heat the milk directly on the stove or use your espresso machine’s steam wand. This way, you can get frothier milk. You can use any milk you enjoy drinking (whole, almond, soy, oat, etc.).
